When we 'close the door' on the distractions of life and are alone with our thoughts we give ourselves permission to take a break from doing.
Liska Turner from A Place For Space will guide you on how to create a space in your home where you feel content, able to explore your own interests and experience some quiet time.
The quiet offered by a dedicated room can be essential for one person and yet for the next individual it is the chair tucked under the stairs, the garden, the office or for one client an odd rectangle of a cupboard with a window that she recreated as her space to write and work on her manuscript.
Your consultation entails two sessions:
- The first part of the consultation is a 1 hour session with Liska Turner in your home.
- Liska will ask you to bring along things that are of significance to you. These can include:
- favourite photographs
- artwork
- special books
- fabric
- pieces of music
- mementos of good times
- anything at all that inspires you
- In this first session we explore what has brought you to this point and what you are looking to create. How you use this time is determined by the process of our interaction. It will be talking, listening, communicating and looking through the treasures you have brought with you to the session. At the end of this first session you will have determined what it is you want to create and what needs to happen next.
- You will receive your own A Place for Space journal to capture your thoughts, ideas, and drawings.
- The second part of the consultation is a 2 hour session where Liska will help you implement the changes you want to make. This could include shopping, moving furniture, selecting what's going into your space or whatever else you need so that at the end of the session you have created your very own space at home.
